Fitness Walking This is not your average walking workout. Over the course of 18 weeks your walking workouts will gradually progress from flat easy walking to brisk paces, rolling hills, short intervals of fast walking and repeated hills. Experience Nordic walking poles, heart rate monitors and pedometers to chart your number of steps and miles walked. Participants walk at their own pace but are encouraged to improve their pace throughout the course. Beginning runners are welcome to join this group for walk/jog intervals. Fitness levels are assessed in January, March and May and compared to January. Results are dramatic. Strength and flexibility exercises are also included.
