Sunday Endurance Training
Sunday Endurance Training is a coached training program. It is for those serious about improving, from any starting point. It is organized and structured for runners with performance goals as well as for the walker/beginner runner who wants to learn to run and build up endurance safely. All levels welcome. It is group training but is individualized to meet your specific needs as your body changes each week. We train to achieve a goal of completing an event, any event from 5k up to half/full marathon distance, including triathlons and duathlons. You pick the date, the distance, the location of the event. We'll help you train and achieve your goal. Train together and learn from a professional running coach. This group training is sure to energize your body, inspire your mind and support you as you train for your desired goal. Let's get moving!
Each Sunday workout will begin with a brief educational training topic or a focus tip to work on during your run. Topics include pacing strategies, injury prevention, sports nutrition, mental training, strength training and more. Before your run, loosen up in a pre-run warm-up targeting runner's typically tight areas to help prepare for your run. Then depart for your running experience. Groups will depart together and then will group up by pace. There are several different distances mapped out each weekend from a two mile loop on up. Enjoy post-run strength exercises, foam roll your muscles, and then relax in the stretch room to unwind and increase flexibility. Sunday runners also receive personal tips to improve form and gait and corrective exercises to reduce chance of injury and keep you running strong throughout your training season.
Color course maps with mile markers, written directions, and the distance designated to meet your personal goal are distributed at the start of the workout. Also receive individually prescribed physiological paces for specific sections of your course each weekend. We start and end at Elite Training Systems of San Ramon. Lockers, showers, restrooms available as well as a stretch and strength room and treatment rooms for physical therapy and sports massage following longer runs. This is sure to be your ultimate training experience.
